Alek Kucich: Versatile Catcher out of New York Seeking Team in Europe for 2018 Season; Willing to Pay Flights
Alek Kucich is a well-rounded catcher/infielder out of Old Brookville, New York. He attended Salve Regina University in Rhode Island where he caught, played 3rd base, and was an all-conference DH. Now that he has finished his collegiate career, Alek has been playing for the Long Island Astros where he has proven himself to be a consistent hitter by holding a .336 AVG and .464 OBP in his past two seasons. He’s now looking to cap off his baseball career on a high note by playing a season overseas before starting a professional career in law enforcement.
As a catcher, Alek has quick hands and feet which allows him to have a sub-2 second pop time down to second base. His fastest recorded pop time is 1.89*, but hovers around 1.92-1.98*. As a left-handed batter, Alek is a good 2-hole hitter because he does not strikeout often and prides himself in his ability to bunt and get guys over. Although he does not hit homeruns, he gets on base consistently, moves guys over, and can occasionally drive the ball in the gap for extra bases.
Any team that is in need of a catcher should reach out to Alek. He is looking for a club in Europe for the 2018 season and may be willing to pay for his own flights if the situation is right. He would like a team that can set him up with accommodations and a monthly salary to cover living expenses.

Alek is a complete player. He has the athletic skills to succeed and the ability to be a coach on the bench – other players like him. Great work ethic and knows the game. He can play 3rd, 2nd, Of (he hates that!) and to my surprise an excellent catcher. He is a lefty bat as you know and batted 2nd for me. His stats are on our website www.licbl.com under the Astros team. You mentioned several points you are looking for and Alek touches them all. Even after a loss or an out his smile never leaves his face – he truly loves the game! I hope you can help him fulfill his dream – i will miss him this summer. If you come across any college players that want to play competitive baseball on Long Island over the summer send them my way. We treat them with respect and don’t charge high fees.

Alek is a outstanding player as well as a first rate young man. It was a pleasure to coach him for 5 years as a starter on our h.s. team. Alek was a first rate defensive catcher , who could really run the game. He got the best out of our pitchers , and organized the infield . I Would also add that he can also play 2nd, short , and 3rd very well.
Alek is a fine hitter. great bat control, and manipulates the count and game situation very well. I Would rate him a grade A prospect.
Alek is looking for a team in 2018 who can offer a place to stay and a way to earn money. If the situation is right, he may be willing to pay for his flights. He is open to hearing all offers.
