Alex Bentley: Israeli Catcher from California Seeking Club for 2018 Season
Alex Bentley is a defensive-minded catcher with a high baseball IQ. With a pop-time consistently under 2 seconds, he makes it difficult for runners to steal on him. He has a strong understanding of the game and is confident in his ability to manage pitchers, analyze batters, call games/pitch sequences, and be a leader for his team in defense. When he is not catching, he is versatile enough to play corner infield or outfield. He may not be the fastest player on the field, but he makes up for it with good instincts and reactions which allow him to get good reads. At the plate, Alex gets quality at bats and can hit to all fields with some pop (see video). He always puts the team first and does whatever necessary to help give his team a chance to win.
Aside from playing baseball, Alex has a successful career in show business. He has acted in movies like Pitch and The Outfield (playing baseball players in both), and has even produced Blue Mountain State: Rise of Thadland. To see more on Alex’s acting career, you can check out his IMDb Page.
Alex is now looking to extend his baseball career overseas and continue his travels. He has played baseball in 12 different countries and is now looking for another opportunity to keep playing the game he loves. Ultimately, Alex would like to be an ambassador of the game while getting to travel to new countries and experience new cultures. He is looking for a team for the 2018 season who can offer flights, accommodations, and a monthly salary that can cover living expenses.
Growing up I lived, ate and breathed baseball.. not much has changed. I’ve visited 12 countries and played baseball in all of them. I want to continue that. My coolest baseball story is sneaking into the MLB ASG and Home Run Derby dressed as a player and spending the weekend on the field with the all stars goofing off and signing autographs. Pics or didn’t happen you say? Just ask

“I have observed Alex Bentley as his hitting instructor and I have watched him play as an evaluator of umpires for the NCAA. I have found Alex to be hard working and one who dedicates himself to improving his skills as a catcher and hitter. He has a very good understanding of the game and works very well his pitching staff.I would rate him very high as a defensive catcher. He has a good arm with an excellent release and is not afraid to put pressure on base runners who lead too far off base. He blocks pitches in the dirt with almost effortless ease.
Not the fastest player on the team, Alex does, however, run the bases well. He anticipates situations enabling him to get good leads and take extra bases.”
