Ben Monticello (RHP/INF): 0.16 ERA and .426 BA in Czech Republic Seeking European Club for 2018
Ben was Eastern New Mexico University’s number one starter during his time there. He pitched over 170 innings and was voted the team captain. Ben is a tall right-handed pitcher that throws from a 3/4 arm slot. He gets good movement on his fastball and averages between an 86-88 mph fastball. His senior year at Eastern New Mexico University Ben had a 4.61 ERA with a team leading 45 strikeouts.
Over the past two years, Ben has played for the Trebic Nuclears in the Czech Republic. This past season, Ben threw 46 innings without giving up a single earned run. In 2015, Ben held a 0.79 ERA while batting .500. Ben has proven himself to be versatile playing the infield when he is not pitching. In high school, he held a .390 batting average and was an All Empire infield selection. Ben has proven himself to be a successful international player and would be a great pickup for any team in need of a pitcher/position player.
