Jeremy Young: Professional Australian Pitcher/Utility Seeking Club for the 2018 Summer

Jeremy Young is a talented young utility player out of Melbourne, Australia. He has experience pitching professionally in the Australian Baseball League with the Melbourne Aces for the past three seasons, but has played the field and hit at the state league level in Victoria. On the mound, Jeremy throws four different pitches including a fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup. His fastball velocity is clocked around 85-88 mph (unverified) and he can chew up innings on the mound as a starter or reliever. When he’s not pitching, he feels comfortable in the infield but can play the outfield if necessary.

Jeremy’s main goal is to travel the world with baseball and see how far it can take him. He’s reached the highest level available in Australia, but is looking to continue his baseball career overseas. He wants to experience new cultures, meet new people, and become an ambassador of the game around the world. He is passionate about coaching and has recently won the Australian National Championship with the Victorian Woman’s Team in Melbourne. He is available to travel overseas after his season in Australia ends in April 2018. He would like to find a team who can cover his flights, accommodations, and offer a small salary to cover his living expenses. He would be a great pickup for any team. According to his coach on the Melbourne Aces after a game in 2015, “He’s been outstanding. He’s a young guy, he attacks, he throws strikes, and he doesn’t look like he’s 19 years old when he’s pitching. I love what I see in him and I’m glad he’s getting an opportunity. He’s going to get more opportunities. He’s done a nice job.”

Virgil Vasquez (Former major leaguer and current pitching coach of the Melbourne Aces):

Peter Moylan (Kansas City Royal and Pitching Coach for the Melbourne Aces):

Joe Vavra (Minnesota Twins Bench Coach and former Melbourne Aces Coach):

I would be happy to recommend Jeremy to travel abroad to extend his playing career. He pitched for me in Melbourne in the 2016 ABL season. Extraordinary calm but competitive temperament and demeanor. Needless to stay, a great teammate and tireless worker. A young control pitcher that accepts any role given. Jeremy loves baseball and it is reflected in his never ending desire to learn and improve. He worked the grounds by day, played through nine plus innings and put the field to bed at night. Although he was used on our ball club as a pitcher, he has played multiple positions in the field. He would be an asset to any team.

Jeremy is looking for a European club for the 2018 season. He would like the team to cover his flights, accommodations, and offer a salary to cover living expenses.
