Lisa Maulden: Veteran international import coach-utility player. Former NCAA I power hitter

Lisa Maulden is a veteran international softball import player who first took her career overseas in 2014 to play in Austria. She has since played in Australia, Belgium, Hungary and is currently playing in New Zealand. During this time she has also built up a lengthy coaching resume, coaching all ages and has even assumed the role as player-coach in her most recent European stint with the Budapest Reds of Hungary.

Lisa was a four year starter with Seattle University (NCAA I), playing corner infield while also coaching as a volunteer within the University, assisting at university camps and local little league teams. Over the course of her four years with Seattle U, Lisa hit 20 home runs, 34 doubles supported by a career batting average of .299. Lisa is all over the school’s record books, including 3rd all-time in both doubles and home runs (history book link).

Lisa is confident playing any position on the field, excluding pitcher. She has a strong arm with accurate throws across the diamond and from the outfield to all bases.

She is a power hitter who swings from the left side but also has small ball capability. On the base paths she is smart base runner and takes pride in swiping the extra base when possible. She is known for drawing the most out of her and teammates through her positive attitude and continuous support with advancing their game.

Lisa on her coaching:

“As a coach, I love working on both the mental and physical side of the game with my players. At all ages, practice makes permanent, which reinforces that every rep counts. Since softball is a team sport, being able to bring out the best qualities in your athletes is important, and allowing people to know their role on the team. A team is a sum of all of it’s parts, which is why every person has a specific role. I enjoy working with athletes of all ages, both baseball and (men and women) softball players.”

Lisa is has now come on as a the Softball Recruitment Manager with IBC because of the strong character and determination she has exemplified throughout her years abroad as well as through her volunteer work with IBC building the softball overseas network.

A testament to Lisa’s determination is when she walked-on to the softball team while at Seattle University for academics, not only earning a spot on the roster but becoming a 4-year starter playing against some of the country’s top college softball programs including many Pac-12 schools.

Any club interested in a power-hitting utility player and coach who also brings ton of positive energy is encouraged to reach out to Lisa with any expressions of interest.
