Luke Carmichael: 29 year-old right handed MIF/relief pitcher willing to assume a player-coach role

Luke Carmichael is a Canadian two-way player who since graduating from Dalhousie University (Canada) has played competitive men’s league baseball in Calgary, Canada. In 2016 he was named the MVP of his team after posting the team’s best batting average (.439) and lowest era (1.47) as the team’s top reliever/closer.

When not pitching, Luke plays the middle infield with excellent range and smooth hands. He also has good speed and is able to steal bases and leg out extra base hits.

He hits from the right side for average with gap-to-gap power. For the past 6 years he has hit either 3rd or 4th in the lineup.

As a pitcher he throws in the low-to-mid 80’s (unverified) with a curveball and changeup rounding out his pitching repertoire.

Luke has one year of experience as a baseball player-coach and also captained his high school volleyball and basketball teams. Throughout his athletic career he has been a team guy who leads by example.  Luke could also draw on his 10 years of experience balancing demanding work and school schedules to guide his new team towards a common season goal.

Luke is also looking to potentially take advantage of the working-holiday visa he qualifies for in most of Europe as a Canadian to find work relevant to his current career in engineering.

Any club seeking an experience two-way player is encouraged to reach out to Luke with expressions of interest.
