In high school, Matt pitched as well played in the field however he had to make the decision to pursue one or the other in college and chose to play position. Post college Matt returned to the bump and took private pitching lessons. In fact these days Matt thinks of himself as a pitcher first despite still swinging the stick real well. Matt finished the season with a slashline of .409 /.550/.860 and an era of 0.00 with 32 strikeouts over 14 innings of work.
Matt throws a fastball in the mid 80’s which is complemented by a change-up and a sharped 12-6 curve.
Matt is passionate about coaching and is currently coaching high school baseball while back in the U.S. He is looking to continue his coaching career while playing overseas and is open to any coaching role a club would like him to undertake.
