Coaching summary

Baseball instructor ,catcher instructor

Manny Garcia, Assistant Coach WS

I first met Jay Johnson in 2012, and had the privilege of having him as a teammate as a member of the White Sands Pupfish. I’ve never had a teammate as hard working and devoted to the game of baseball as Jay is. If you’re looking for a solid bat in the lineup as well as a dedicated and solid glove behind the plate, then Jay is the perfect player for you.

Eddie Dennis , Former Coach,Hitting Coach Williamsport Cutters (Phillies Single A Advance)

Jay was a pitcher for me in the AWL he was also a catcher great guy never complained about not playing great attitude on off the field. When I seen him catch I was impressed by how he received and called the game. Very relaxed patient player well all around knowledge behind the plate average arm blocking skills are strong. Clutch hitter likes to find the gaps can also surprise you with a scarifice bunt can steal the odd base. Under rated catcher who differently can impact a team and pitching staff.

About Me

I’ve been a catcher for well over 15 years never had the chance to attend University or College straight out of High School traveled attended tryouts in Canada,U.S. In all sort of different Independent leagues and Semi Pro. I am a work horse always first to show up at the field, batting cages always willing to catch bullpens for pitchers. Off the field always find me at the gym or Cages or helping with summer or winter camps or even doing one on on sessions for youngsters for me its all about giving back and teaching young kids the game of baseball .

Being a catcher if i could I’d catch all day long how much i love doing it. i work hard being a catcher . love to block I can go all day at it i tend to beat myself up behind the plate and take a beating and i will get up the next day and do it all over again. I call a great game I practice lots at my defense and my offense. Average Hitter or Clutch hitter with some pop and known to steal a few bases here and there.
