About Me

I definitely consider myself a control pitcher, as opposed to a power pitcher. I try to pitch to contact and pound the strikezone as much as possible, and have been known to get groundballs at a very high rate. I like to change speeds and change eye levels to keep the hitters off balance. My fastballs tend to have a lot of movement, as I use my “arm side run” to jam it inside to a lefty, or drift to the outer part of the plate to a righty. My fastball currently will be between 85-88 MPH. It tends to to jump up as the season moves on and I am throwing more, as my last season at Michigan I was topping out at 91 MPH. Along with a 4-seam and 2-seam fastball, I will throw a curveball and a changeup. My changeup is definitely my best pitch. I like to think I have a great feel for my changeup, and am comfortable throwing it in any count. When I can get my changeup and 2-seam fastball going together, I tend to get a lot of those groudballs.

As a lefty, I was able to hold left-handed hitters in the Big Ten to a .175 batting average against. Also, my junior season I was second in the Big Ten in pickoffs. I believe controlling the running game is an
important part of pitching, and can definitely change the momentum of a game in one out. I am fast moving and high energy when I am on the mound, and believe that is very crucial to keep the fielders on their
toes and in the game (especially if I am getting groundballs!).

All in all, I love to pitch and love to constantly learn new things in the game of baseball. I believe I would be a great addition to the team. Please let me know if there is any additional information you need from me.
