Micaela Whitney: Hard Throwing NCAA Division I RHP out of Creighton University

Micaela Whitney is a hard throwing RHP out of Omaha, Nebraska. Aside from her 66-68 mph fastball, Micaela also throws a screwball, a changeup, a rise ball, and a curveball. Out of high school, Micaela initially signed a scholarship with NCAA Division I: University of Iowa in the Big 10 Conference. After playing with the Hawkeyes for two years, Micaela transferred back to her hometown team, Creighton University, another Division I program in the Big East Conference. In her very first start with the Bluejays, Micaela threw a no-hitter and never looked back. She had two great season, and finished her senior year off with her best season yet. She led Big East Conference in strikeouts (140) and was among the league leaders for shutouts (4), saves (2), and ERA (2.74) through 125 innings.

After graduating Micaela too her game overseas to the Netherlands in 2017. She believes that playing overseas will also give her valuable experience that would benefit her down the road. She has aspirations of becoming a college softball coach and knows that playing beyond college would help her reach that goal. She wants to be an ambassador of the game and help grow softball around the world while she is experiencing new cultures and meeting new people.
