Moisses Pargas – Venezuelan LHP Currently Living in Sweden Seeking Team for 2018 Season
Moisses Pargas Rangel is a 24 year old left-handed pitcher from Venezuela who has been living, working, and playing in Sweden since 2013. For the 2017 season, Moisses played for the Sundbyberg Heat in the Swedish 1st League where he threw nearly 50 innings and held a 1.82 ERA. From the left side, he throws his fastball in the mid-upper 80’s along with a slider, curve, and changeup. When he was in Venezuela, Moisses played in the Class A League against some of Venezuela’s top talent. Now that he has performed well in the Swedish League, he is looking move up to a more competitive league for the 2018 season.
He is looking for a team who can provide accommodations and a small salary to cover living expenses. He would also like to work alongside playing; so if a team has a work opportunity as well, that would be ideal. If he finds the right opportunity, he may be willing to cover half of his flight cost. Alongside playing, Moisses is also open to being an assistant coach of a youth team. Moisses is open to hearing all offers.

I met Moisses for the first time 3 years ago when I was coaching his club team here in Stockholm. Now that I am with the Swedish National Team, I hope that his Swedish citizenship comes through in time for the 2019 European Championships. Moisses is a great kid with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic. I’ve watched him get stronger and improve his game over the past few seasons. His pitching mechanics have improved tremendously, he’s throwing the ball harder and has a consistent delivery with good command of his fastball and breaking stuff. With his work ethic I know he will continue to improve in the years to come. We see Moisses as an asset for the Swedish National Team in the future and I personally hope he gets a chance to play on a higher level internationally.

Moisses is a hard working player with high moral. We have used him as a starter and a stopper. He is competetive and knows the game. With a strong smart catcher he can be very effective.
Moisses is looking for a club for the 2018 season who can offer accommodations and a salary. If everything is taken care of, he may be willing to pay for half of his flights.
