Paige Castro – NCAA I Shortstop/Utility player with coaching experience

Paige Castro recently graduated from Sacramento State University (NCAA I) with a career batting average of .300, where she was also amongst the leaders for CSUS in career batting average and triples. In her sophomore year at Fairleigh Dickinson University, she was third in the nation for sacrifice bunts.

Throughout her four year college career Paige was the starting shortstop until midway into her senior season when she sustained a lower back injury while lifting weights. She was able to come back and finish the season as a Big-Sky Conference Honorable Mention Selection. Paige is also comfortable playing any other position on the field other than pitcher.

Paige on why she would like to take her career overseas:

“I am very passionate about the game. I’ve played for as long as I can remember and was sad when my competitive days of college ball came to an end. Since then I have been fulfilling the void by coaching youth softball and playing co-ed slow pitch. I also have a passion for traveling and I would love to combine the two.”

Any club in need of a shortstop with a good coaching background is encouraged to reach out to Paige with any expressions of interest.
