Trent Saharek: Left-handed Two-Way Player Willing to Pay for Flights; Batted .434 and Named 1st-Team All-Conference in 2017 Seeking Club Overseas for 2018

Trent Saharek is a left-handed two-way player who can pitch and play outfield or first base. He graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in the spring of 2017 where he led his conference with a .434 batting average. He was named 1st-team All-UMAC and 2nd-team All-Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Trent has quick hands and the ability to hit to all fields with some gap to gap power. He has proven himself to hit for a high average through his past five seasons, his batting average has not dropped below .300.

Now that he has finished college, he is looking to take his career overseas so he can see the world. When asked about why he wanted to play internationally, he replied “The reason I want to take my career overseas is the following: To continue to play baseball at a high level while traveling the world, meet new people, be in a new culture and help coach youth baseball.” Trent would like to use this opportunity as a stepping stone towards professional baseball in America. Although he does not have pitching stats, below is a video of him on the mound:

Ryan Kragh – Head Coach, Bethany Lutheran College:

Lucas Herd – Assistant Coach, Bethany Lutheran College:

Jake Haney – Head Coach, Irvine Tides:

Trent is first and foremost a wonderful young man. He is coachable, hardworking, and respectful to his coaches and teammates. Trent’s best tool is his bat. He has an uncanny knack for grinding out at bats and finding the barrel. He had a very productive summer last summer in the Pacific Coast Collegiate League. Trent is not the player that is going to wow you just seeing him once, but the more you see him the more you realize what a good player he is.

Trent is looking for a team overseas for the 2017-18 seasons. If a club were to set him up with accommodations and a job, he may be willing to pay for his flights if the situation is right. He is open to all offers.
