Xavi Gonzalez: Shortstop with MiLB and Overseas Experience Seeking Australian Club
Xavi Gonzalez is a talented defensive-minded shortstop out of La Guairá, Venezuela whole holds a Spanish passport (qualifies for Aussie work and holiday visa). Having played with him myself through the summer of 2017, I can speak first hand of his abilities. With quick hands and feet, Xavi has the ability to make plays that many players can not. At the plate, he is a line drive, gap to gap hitter with the ability to hit to all fields. Xavi is well-rounded, has a good compact swing, some speed, and enough power to hit the occasional homerun. He is a natural leader on the field and is always willing to help his teammates.
Aside from playing, Xavi has a passion for coaching and enjoys teaching the game to young players. Over the past four years, Xavi has dedicated himself to coaching the next generation of players in Stuttgart. He is currently the head of their academy and has been active in coaching every team throughout the reds organization year-round. He would be a great pickup for any team who is looking for not only a good player, but a good person and coach who can leave a lasting impact for years to come.

I have had pleasure of coaching and working alongside Xavi since 2010. His work ethic is second to none and his approach of perfect practice has been adopted by the whole organization.
2013 was Xavi’s first year with our Falcons team. He quickly established himself in team playing Shortstop and hitting 2nd in the line-up. Xavi is truly a 5 tool player. His glove work is smooth and arm is relaxed with plenty of pop. Xavi makes great contact and has an aggressive hitting approach. Xavi is a player the club are hoping to keep hold of but understand he is beyond our league Standard. Our loss would be your gain.
Xavi started coaching for Herts Baseball 2010, and soon became our defence coach (5 adult and 3 Junior team) Our club has a lot to thank Xavi for. His delivery when coaching is fun and easily understandable for new Adult or Junior players. In his time as defence coach, the standard of play has improved at all levels at the club. Our NBL team won the league pennant and our Under 17s finished runners up at the Nationals Championships this year. It is truly a pleasure watching him coach and other coaches regularly comment that they learned something new themselves..
Xavi is a true gentleman. He is very outgoing and always shows great respect to teammates, opponents and officials. He is a natural leader and I class him now as a good friend and one of the best baseball players I have met.

Xavier Gonzalez has assisted our club for for the years 2010-2012, by helping coach our newest players, who were both at university, and more mature players from the community. He showed great professionalism, and vibrant attitude for baseball which kept the younger guys wanting to come back week after week. His in depth knowledge of the game ensured that they fully understood why they were doing every drill, and gained him great respect from them in return.
Xavier also played for me in an a British All-Star team that travelled to Zurich for the Alpine Cup, in which we defeated an Venezuelan all star team and made the final against the Swiss National team. Xavier showed great flair while playing every inning at SS, performed very well at the plate, and was a great team mate to 13 other guys he had never met before the trip.
He is a true team player, and a great coach, and will benefit any club which will take him on.
Xavi is looking for a club in Australia who can cover flights, accommodations, and a salary/job to cover living expenses.
